For LSTA eligibility, a library must submit an action plan update for the next fiscal year or the year of the LSTA grant round. The action plan update is developed after completing a review of the strategic plan and describes the activities that the library will take in the following fiscal year that will assist them in meeting the goals and objectives of their strategic plan.
Action plans can be very simple. They only need to list a library's goals and specific actions related to those goals that will be worked on in the upcoming fiscal year. To be effective, they should be continually used and updated regularly.
For example, by December 1, 2016, a library will submit an update for federal FY 2018, which will cover activities during the period from July 2017 through June 2018.
