When do we need to appropriate funding for the Planning and Design Phase, and why is it only $150,000?
This is a local decision, but the funding is for expenditure in FY2025 and FY2026, and the appropriation should be contingent upon acceptance into the grant round and receipt of a Planning and Design Phase grant. The certified copy of the vote for appropriation is due in hand at the MBLC by June 16, 2024. The $150,000 covers costs through the MPLCP Level of Design estimate. The majority of design fees are incurred in the Construction Phase when the project moves through design development, construction documents, bidding, and construction.
