If you want credit for the land as an eligible cost in your application, you will have to ask for local official transfer of school or town owned land to be used by the library for the project. Approval of the transfer could be contingent on receiving a provisional grant award and approval of local matching funding. If agreed or as you work with your town/city manager, mayor and city council on this issue, you will want establish the value of the land as described and submit this documentation in the grant application. Doing this means that up to $800,000 of the value of the land can be claimed as an eligible cost. We will also need to see documentation in the grant that the transfer was approved
